Rack-and-Pinion Pillar
The more advanced rack-and-pinion pillar allows the illuminator to be moved routinely along the optical axis and also adds smooth sliding lateral translation of the light source.
The extended axial travel gives an ultra-long working distance of up to 230 mm, with a tilt feature to bring the illuminator out of the lightpath for even greater access. This pillar supports our full range of trans-illumination sources including both central LED condensers and our range of Aura condenser-free phase contrast and darkfield systems. If using our Aura Pro (as shown above) the optical axis above the sample is free for a camera and lens to be used from above for alignment, view-finding, or quantitative macro imagining.
